Some give you shade (the big ones). Some have nice smells. One plant, though, smells like a skunk, but when you tell your neighbor that, they say "No it doesn't, that's a skunk you're smelling". But it's not, it's their plant. Your gardener even said so: "Yes, that plant stinks". But still, your neighbor refuses to believe it. (What else might they be in denial about?)
