Standing right behind you

A list poem done for a writing class. Still revising. I keep cutting out lines I don’t like. Pretty soon it won’t exist.

LOSS
loss is not interested in your plans
loss is not concerned with whose turn it is
loss is not trying to make a point

loss doesn’t make excuses
loss shows up on time
loss gets the job done

loss is smarter than you
loss is taller than you
loss is standing
right behind you

loss says don't take it personally
loss knows it's hard not to

loss is holding the cards
loss is shuffling the deck
loss calls the shots
loss hasn’t lost yet
